Proactiv - X-Out

Are you a fan of proactiv?  Or perhaps you have always wanted to try their products but was not interested in a multi-step system?  Well the makers of Proactiv have recently released a new product called X-Out.  This wash treatment only requires one step and contains enough Benzoyl Peroxide to rival acne prescription medication. This specific product was part of my Holiday VoxBox sent by the company Influenster.  If you are interested in finding out how to qualify for your own VoxBox click HERE to read my blog post about the company.

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine - Nude York City

New York Color (NYC) Liquid Lipshine is a product that I have never tried before. Sometimes I get wrapped up in the brands at Sephora and I forget about some of the brands at the drugstores that offer high quality for an inexpensive amount.  This specific product was part of my Holiday VoxBox sent by the company Influenster.  If you are interested in finding out how to qualify for your own VoxBox click HERE to read my blog post about the company.

Influenster - Holiday VoxBox

Influenster is an online company that allows anyone to register with them for free in order to potentially have the opportunity to receive a VoxBox.  Never heard of a VoxBox?  Either had I until Influenster reached out to me back in November and asked if I wanted to be apart of their Holiday Edition VoxBox in December.  I quickly started researching the company and found that anyone can sign up for FREE and fill out quick surveys in order to earn badges on the site.  If you earn certain badges or so many badges you could qualify to receive the next VoxBox that Influenster sends out. You can click HERE if you are interested in checking out their website.

T.J. Maxx - The Balm Kit

I have had my eye on The Balm products for quite some time but was not ready to pay full price for them.  So you can imagine how excited I was to find several kits from The Balm at T.J. Maxx for a fraction of the price that the individual products would go for.  Although each kit was tempting, I finally decided to purchase the one with the popular Mary-Lou Manizer face highlighter.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish - MILF

Illamasqua is a high end brand that has a reputation for having high quality and high pigmented products.  I found that this absolutely held true with their nail varnish in the shade MILF.  Although the name may be a little out there, the polish itself is by far my favorite mint green shade that I have found.

November 2011 Birchbox

It was my original goal to have a post about each Birchbox that I received, however the last few months have gotten away from me and I unfortunately did not post September and October Birchbox products.  I did however make a video showing the September products that I received which you can watch by clicking HERE.  If you would like to see blog posts on some my past Birchboxes just click the following links
 ------> August   -   July   -   June   -    May   -   April

With that said I am excited to show the contents of my November Birchbox since it has been one of my favorite boxes so far.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush - Exposed

Ever since this blush became a quick favorite on YouTube, I knew I wanted to try one for myself.  The only reason I waited to make this purchase was because of the $25.00 price tag.  Since I have never paid that much for one blush, I decided to hold out for the Sephora Friends and Family sale in order to get the extra 20% off.

Tarte - Lip Service LipSurgence Collection

The Tarte LipSurgence Collection was one of the main things I was looking forward to purchasing during the Sephora friends and family sale.  This must be a popular product because it kept going in and out of stock throughout the sale and I was worried that I would not be able to get my hands on it!  Luckily I was able to grab it on the last day of the sale and I am so glad that I did.

Sephora Beauty Insider 500 pt - Laura Mercier

I have been patiently (well not so patiently) waiting for my points to build up enough so I could choose a 500 pt beauty insider product.  I finally had enough points when placing my recent friends and family sale purchase and decided to go ahead and turn them in for the box of small Laura Mercier products.

Mark - Main Squeeze Lip Gloss in Papaya

The Mark Main Squeeze Lip Gloss immediately caught my attention on the website because of its unique shape.  This product is a limited edition round lip gloss that is available in the following shades:

  • Papaya Squeeze (pink - pictured below)
  • Honey Squeeze (nude)
  • Cherry Squeeze (red)

Mark - Super Flip Color Kit

This kit instantly caught my attention because of the bright eye shadows that were included.   All of the past Mark Flip Kits that I have seen always had fairly neutral/wearable colors.  I also loved that the other side was a face illuminator, rather than lip glosses or lip sticks that I never end up using when in kits like these.

Mark Lipclicks - Bare Hug & Hot Stuff

I have a slight obsession with lipsticks, so I knew I had to try out the lipclicks by Mark Cosmetics.  Mark has two lines of lipclicks called Full Color and Color Shine.  Full Color lipclicks are described as being a pigmented lipstick that also is moisturizing to the lips.  On the other hand, Color Shine lipclicks are described as a less pigmented version with an added bonus of SPF 15.

I am not an avid collector of Mac Mineralize Skinfinish products, however I have been waiting for what seems like forever for them to re-release the MSF in Lightscapade.  I first saw that this would be available with the MAC Fall Colour collection on Temptalia's website and have been excitedly waiting for the end of the September for the collection to be released!

MAC Naked Honey Skin Salve is a fairly popular discontinued skin care product from the Naked Honey collection that MAC released in 2009.  Normally I would try and avoid reviewing discontinued products, however MAC is notorious for re-promoting pieces of past collections.

August 2011 Birchbox

I always look forward to finding my Birchbox in the mail each month, however I was pretty disappointed with the contents of my box this month.  Perhaps I have been spoiled with the full size products that I have received in past months, but this was definitely my least favorite box that I have received so far.

Bath & Body Works has always been one of my go to stores for lotion, body spray, hand soap, and candles!  However, I could hardly contain my excitement when they introduced my favorite scent of all time as a hand soap and anti-bacterial pocketbac. Now this scent is not completely brand new, as it was also in stores as wallflowers and various sizes of candles around Christmas time last year.

EOS Lip Balm with SPF 15 - Lemon Drop

EOS lip balms have been very popular among the beauty community on Youtube. After hearing about these uniquely shaped lip balms, I decided I should try one for myself. Since the lemon drop scent also includes a SPF of 15, I hunted down this product to purchase for the summer.  I actually had trouble finding this particular EOS balm and ended up ordering it at walmart.com since they were advertising free shipping!

Eco Emi - June 2011

Since I have been so impressed by the company Birchbox and the concept of getting samples in the mail each month, I decided to give Eco Emi a chance.  Althought Eco Emi shares the same general idea, it does have its differences from Birchbox.  Eco Emi has a monthly subscription of $15.00 and while you receive more samples than Birchbox, they are a considerably smaller size.  My June box had a total of 15 samples in it, but most of them will only last for one to two uses.  Is it worth $15.00?  Well lets find out...

MAC Bloggers' Obsessions - Jealousy Wakes

If you have found your way to this blog, chances are you have read beauty posts by at least one of the nine bloggers who were asked by MAC to be apart of the Bloggers' Obsessions Collection.  Amber Katz, Lesley Ellen Mirza, Lianne Farbes, Wendy Lam, Christine Mielke, Patrice Grell Yursik,Lily Nima, Karen Monterichard and Aileen De Los Angeles were given an opportunity that many of us would jump at the chance to do. MAC invited these girls to create their own eye shadow or lip gloss in appreciation for their reviews over the years!  I am personally unfamiliar with most of these blogs, however I am a big fan of Christine Mielke who runs the beauty blog Temptalia.  When Christine first announced that she was creating an eye shadow for MAC I was intrigued, pair that with the fact that she created it in my favorite color and I was just counting down the days until I could purchase it online!

Sephora - Set For Summer

Sephora is known for putting together their favorite products into one kit for customers to try.  This is a great way to try out a range of products without spending full price on each individual product.  I have always eyed these kits and finally decided to buy one when Sephora released their Set For Summer for $39.00.

A couple months ago I was at a Sephora in JCPenney's and decided it was time that I found a new foundation for the summer.  I usually only use liquid foundations in the winter when my skin is extremely dry and enjoy using powder foundations during the hot summer months.  After making my way through various brands, I came across one foundation that immediately caught my attention.

Mark Representative Starter Kit - Part 3

The final post about the Mark Starter Kit will include the last three products that were included in the kit. The first product that I will talk about is the Mark Get A Tint Tinted Moisturizer Lotion. This lotion contains SPF 15, which makes it a perfect product for summer. However, Mark does not allow the new reps to choose a shade and instead includes the same Buff/Natural shade for everyone. This is unfortunate because I personally cannot use this product for myself and ended up giving it to my mother to use for the summer.

Mark Representative Starter Kit - Part 2

In this blog post I will talk about the eye and check colors that were included in the Mark starter kit.  There were two eye shadows and one cheek color that seem to be fairly flattering shades for a wide range of skin tones. Each of these products also included a Snap To It Mini Custom Color Palette.

The two Custom Pick Eye Shadows that were included were:

- Tiki
- Biscotti

Mark Representative Starter Kit - Part 1

One of the first products that stands out in the Mark starter kit would have to be the make-up bag and body lotion.  These are the largest products in the kit, which is why I checked them out first.  The Mark Super Cosmetic Bag is a cute striped design consisting of the colors pink, brown, and white.  It is definitely large enough to hold all of the products from the starter kit plus some! It also has a plastic type material covering the outer design, which will keep the bag from getting dirty over time.  This bag retails for $12.00.

Mark Representative - Starter Kit

I recently decided to sign up on the Mark website to become a representative for their company.  If you are unfamiliar with Mark, it is a brand within the Avon company. However, I feel that the Mark line appeals more to a younger age group than the other Avon brand products.  You can either sign up on the Avon website and become an Avon representative with access to their Mark line or you can solely sign up to sell the Mark brand.  I am not very familiar with how the Avon brand representatives differ from Mark representatives, but I believe that Avon representatives are required to sell products every so many months in order to keep their account active.  Mark representatives do not have any such requirements, however they will not have access to any other Avon brand of products outside of the Mark line.  I suggest researching both product lines and the benefits of becoming an Avon representative versus a Mark representative before singing up.

For a $20 start up fee, Mark will send you a starter kit in order to allow you to become familiar with their products, along with the most recent catalog (called magalogs by Mark) of their products for you to distribute for sales.  I am not aware of how often these starter kits change, but as of April 2011 the following products were included:

Picture shows 5 magalogs but kit will include 10

L'Oréal Paris Infallible Lipcolour in Thistle - Review

I do not own much from any L'Oréal Paris cosmetic line, however I have been pleasantly surprised at how much I have enjoyed my first L'Oréal Infallible lipcolour. I originally bought this product to qualify for free shipping during one of my previous Ulta online orders.  I figured since this product had always caught my eye in stores, it was about time that I tried it out for myself.

MAC Pink Cult blush is a beautiful dirty tone pink.  This product was part of the Jeanius collection, which released in March 2011.  I only own a few blushes from MAC but something about this product made me purchase it online without even swatching it in person.

Target Beauty Bag

About a month ago Target was advertising on their site a free beauty bag filled with samples.  Unfortunately, they are now sold out but I thought I would share the contents of my beauty bag so you could get a general idea of what they contain for the next time Target releases one.  From what I have read on other blogs it seems that there were slight variations of the samples that were in these beauty bags, but for the most part everyone received similar products.  My box arrived a little mangled and looked as if someone had been throwing it around, but hey it was free and the products inside were all intact!

Lets begin with the adorable bag that the samples came in:

April 2011 Birchbox

After watching several YouTube videos and reading multiple blog posts on the company Birchbox, I felt that I had to try it out for myself.  For those who are unfamiliar with this company, you pay a monthly subscription fee of $10 and around the middle of each month Birchbox will mail you at least 4 deluxe size samples.  These samples are typically makeup, skincare, and perfume.  However, I do believe that some boxes may contain one food/drink type sample as well.

Below are the products that were included in my first Birchbox, which I received during the month of April:
